Fun Weekend With Family

We were so lucky to have our family from Georgia drive all the way to Texas to visit for the weekend. Memom, Grandaddy, Aunt Laura, and Uncle Tommy piled in the Yukon for a long drive. We are so thankful for the time we got to spend with them. They loved on Jordan and Nathan for two whole days! So sad that we all live so far away!

My Mom's house is under construction with renovations so Jenn was the hostess for the weekend! Thanks Jenn!!! Those kabobs were the bomb! (Yes, I just said "the bomb." But, they were!)

Vivi (my adorable niece) watched her princess movie, while wearing her princess dress, and sitting in her princess chair! I could just squeeze her!

Vivi and Memom lovin' on Nathan

(Notice how Vivi is still wearing the Cinderella dress. The first picture was Saturday afternoon. The second picture was Sunday afternoon. :))

I love these people so much that I nearly cried while posting these pictures! I'm counting down the days 'til June 11 when we make a trip to the Peach State to visit family. Bryan and I are so blessed to have such wonderful Beam, Fuller, Calvert, and Denton extended families. I hope ya'll have family like we do...there is nothing like it!

Much love,

Becca

What is that in Jordan's cute little mouth?

Yes, I enlarged and cropped this picture so you can see it...it is what you think it is...A TOOTH! When Jordan was born, a nurse in the hospital noticed a white spot under his gums and told us that it was a tooth. Sure enough, about a week later, the gums started to wear away and this tooth poked out! I read on the internet that only one out of every 2,000 babies are born with a tooth. It doesn't have a root and it should have a baby tooth underneath it. So, when it is loose enough, we are to pull it, just like a baby tooth. Isn't it hilarious? I wasn't going to blog about this in fear of Jordan reading this when he is 15 and never forgiving me for telling the blogging world that he was born with a tooth! But, my dear friend, Paige, told me that this was definitely blog worthy material. And, I decided that I want for Jordan to embrace the fact that he was born with a tooth and find the humor in it! :) Let's hope that will be the case. So, here is a picture of Jordan's 1/2000 tooth! I realize this is not the most flattering picture of Jordan...poor thing. But, I had to post a picture of him crying so you can see the tooth. He will forgive me, right?

Happy 6 Weeks to Jordan and Nathan!

My two baby boys are six weeks old today. It is so crazy how time is already flying by! It was six weeks ago yesterday that I was able to take the medicine pump out of my leg and finally walk around. Six weeks ago today, I begged my mom to take me to the mall. I had not been to a store for 3 weeks...I was in shopping withdrawal. I really wanted some overalls for the boys so we headed to the mall. Everyone at the mall was staring at me. I could tell they were wondering why this hugely pregnant girl was spending her Saturday walking around the mall. Not to mention all the clothing racks, people, shopping bags, and strollers that I slightly bumped into with my big ol' belly! See the big belly below...I was HUGE!

When we got back to the car, I mentioned to my mom that the tightness in my belly was getting a little tighter and a little closer together. She started to help me time the contractions. We stopped at Tom Thumb so mom could run inside to get some more green beans to go with supper. I stayed in the car. We randomly saw Jill at Tom Thumb and she came out to the car to say hello. She looked at me like, "oh gosh...I think you might have those babies tonight." We made it back to my mom's house a few minutes later and my contractions kept getting closer together. I finally sent a text message to Bryan because he was hosting a basketball tournament at his middle school. I was getting pretty uncomfortable so my sister decided to put me in the car and take me to the hospital. Bryan met us there. He was not happy that he smelled like hot dogs and a locker room when he got to the hospital. I told him that I didn't care what he smelled like, I was ready to have these babies! My doctor came up to the hospital and the babies were born by c-section at 10:21 and 10:23 that night.
I will never forget seeing our Jordan and Nathan for the very first time. It was a very special feeling. We went through all kinds of fertility treatments with several doctors for almost 3 years before finding out we were expecting. I prayed and prayed for a baby during that time. I didn't understand. But, God did. Bryan and I can look back and see so many wonderful and perfect reasons that the Lord has us wait. If you are trying to get pregnant, please know that I have such a tender heart for you. I have a very special friend that I specifically pray for every single night when I tuck my two little miracles into their beds for the night. I want for her what the Lord did for us. If you are praying for something, for anything, keep praying. Jordan and Nathan are physical proof that God answers prayers.
These are the overalls I bought on the shopping trip that sent me into labor.

Jordan and Nathan have such stuffy noses so they sleep swaddled up in their bouncy seats at night. We tried sleeping in the crib but they could hardly breathe, bless their hearts!

And, they already love storytime with Daddy! Yes, we read books to these babies and they are only 6 weeks old...it's the teacher in us. :)

Happy Six Week Birthday Jordan and Nathan!

Sunday Night at Granny's

Libby and Morgan are in town for Spring Break and that was the perfect reason to eat supper with Bryan's family on Sunday night at Granny's house. Although, we don't ever need a reason to get together for a meal at Granny's. Family fun is reason enough! Bryce and Brayden were such sweet big cousins to "babysit" Jordan and Nathan for us while we ate our yummy fajitas.

Then, Bryce discovered that he LOVES guacamole! He was eating it by the spoonful (or fork-ful)! Justin was gagging and the rest of us were laughing hysterically!

After supper, Brayden and Bryce put on an awesome concert in the living room. American Idol...here they come!!

Can't wait for more fun as all four boys grow up together!
Much love,
Becca

SIC'EM BEARS!

(This is Bryan)
Today the Baylor men's basketball team pulled off the biggest upset in Big 12 tournament history! They rolled the number one seeded Kansas Jayhawks 71-64 to advance to the semi-finals on Friday. GO BEARS!

Jordan and Nathan

I came home and dressed Nathan and Jordan in their Baylor gear to support the team. Becca got excited and ran to grab their stuffed footballs for the picture. Isn't she cute?! I had to remind her that it's basketball season. You would think that being married to a coach she would be a little more aware of the sporting world. She's actually come a long way in 5 years. She's pretty good now about watching sporting events with me but she spends most of that time asking me lots of questions about the players families, interests, religions, etc. She really likes to know their "stories" and if they are "good guys"! Oh well, at least it gives me a break from HGTV and Lifetime!

Watchdogs

Harley and Cooper just love Jordan and Nathan! They are especially intrigued when Jordan and Nathan are on the floor or near the floor. They will sit in front of the boys' bouncy seats forever to make sure all is okay. It is so cute! (Nathan's on the left and Jordan's on the right.)

Then, later that night, Cooper decided that Jordan would make a great pillow. Don't worry, Bryan was sitting right there and we made Cooper get up as soon as we took the picture. I just couldn't help but capture Cooper's sweet nature. He is so fluffy and lovable!

Yes, it did work!

Bryan's great efforts to rid the Diaper Champ of its awful smell were victorious (at least for a few days maybe)! I should also add that he used some Arm and Hammer baking soda cleaning spray too. I think that was the magical touch!

Only a Daddy...

would use a water hose and leaf blower in the backyard to deodorize and disinfect the Diaper Champ!

Anyone else totally disturbed by the Bachelor??

Or, am I the only adult that still watches that stupid show?! Monday nights are Bryan's basketball game nights so every January I begin to get hooked on The Bachelor. And, I just can not get over what a flake this guy turned out to be! Melissa was so cute and he actually proposed to her...he put a ring on her finger...he asked her to marry him. Then, he all of a sudden decides to dump her on national TV and tell her that he couldn't stop thinking about Molly. Poor Melissa. And, Molly has to be a little confused too. Now that I have vented, I will just wait for another season of that stinkin' show during the next middle school basketball season. I am sure I will get hooked and then I will be disappointed. Isn't that the way that show always seems to work?

Getting Creative

When you have two hungry mouths to feed and you are the only one at home...it is time to get creative! I propped my babies up in the same boppy pillow and fed two bottles at one time. Then, I flipped them over on their belly a couple of times to burp. Ta-dah! Two happy, sleepy babies with full tummies! Bless their hearts. They are learning to be flexible at only three weeks old!
