Day Out With Thomas!

We are so lucky to have Thomas come to our very own town!  Nathan and Jordan kept saying, "Thomas is coming to OUR train tracks!!!!!"  Despite the nasty virus we've had at our house this week, the boys were fever free and totally perked up for THE REAL THOMAS!!  It was magical.

Do they look just a little bit excited or what?!?!

There were so many activities set up for the kids.  The boys stood at this table and colored for like 30 minutes...as if they never color at home!

It was toy-train-heaven.

Thomas and His Friends!

The big train ride!  The train was whistling and playing Thomas songs...there were a lot of happy boys on that train!

My hair got a little scary as the morning went on.  It was a little humid for this curly hair today!  We had a great time and the boys thought this day with Thomas was super special!

My Redeemer Lives!

Today, we celebrated the greatest love of all...THE RISEN KING! We worshiped in a beautiful service at church this morning and then spent the day with family. It was a glorious day!
“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Romans 5:10

The boys woke up this morning to find that the Easter bunny had visited!

It's BUMBLEBEE!

It's OPTIMUS PRIME!

More fun, thanks to that Easter Bunny!

Easter Bunny cinnamon rolls!  Thanks for the idea, Pinterest!

After the Easter Bunny excitement, we got dressed up for the real reason we celebrate Easter.  JESUS is ALIVE!  Because of the Cross and the Resurrection, we are no longer bound by our sin.  We are saved by grace! Amazing Grace.

I wanted a picture of the boys in their pretty clothes...but the only way I could get them on the porch with a cute smile was with their transformers in their hands! HA!

Bryan's sisters were all in town this morning...I am so blessed to call this family mine!

And, I had to include this out-take...oh my sweet Tot...that belly is a little bright!

After church, we headed to my parents' house for a delicious meal!  My mom always has the prettiest table set up for special occasions.

Cousins!  Oh my, how I wish these two girls lived closer.

 Jenn's pretty family!

And, of course, MeMe had some special treats for the grand kids!

What a perfect day. My cup overflows!

EGG HUNT!

Yesterday we enjoyed a super fun Easter Egg Hunt at church.  The boys were extra spoiled with ALL of their cousins there.  We were so tickled that my sister and her family were in town for Easter.  I apologize for the outlandish amount of pictures in this post and the next one...just couldn't leave any of them out.

Nathan and Jordan were so excited to hunt eggs!

Waiting so patiently for the egg hunt to begin...

The hunt begins...!!!!

Such pretty girls!

I love this picture...all my nieces and nephews from both sides of our family all together in one special snapshot!

Nathan loves his buddy, Chris!

Spring Has Sprung!

This morning I had the privilege to work in Nathan and Jordan's Sunday school room.  They were waving palm branches and walking around the room with their Sunday School teacher saying, "Hosanna, Hosanna, Jesus is coming!"  I was overjoyed to see my boys excited about the true meaning of Palm Sunday.  I pray all the time that the sacrifice of Jesus, His Resurrection, and the power of the Holy Spirit will be so real to them one day.  I love to see moments that God uses to stir their little bitty hearts towards Him.  What a perfect way to start off a week of celebrating that He is Risen!

HAPPY SPRING!

We have a bad case of "Spring Fever" at our house!  This warm weather is so fun (for now...until it gets to the triple digits)!!  We wore our GREEN and GOLD to church last Sunday to support our Baylor Bears!  Baylor Men's team made it to the Elite 8 and the Women are playing in the Final Four tonight!  What a fun year to be a Baylor Grad!!  The boys have perfected their bear claw and can yell "Sic 'Em Bears" like pros!

Nathan and Jordan helped me make some bunny cookies one night last week.

Nathan has to hold his tongue just right.

This weekend we planted flowers in the yard.  Every spring the flowers just make my heart so full!  I love it!  N and J were happy to help.

Couldn't find the watering can that I have owned for 7 years...I'm pretty sure Bryan threw it away in one of his "cleaning-out and organizing moods."  A plastic pitcher from the pantry had to do.  :)

Nathan was hunting for those rolly pollies again!

This morning was April Fools Day and we woke up to the funniest April Fools Day ever!  When I turned on the light in the playroom for Jordan this morning, I noticed that our yard had a little color to it that it didn't have the day before.  It turns out that some friends decorated our whole front yard with Easter eggs, Easter grass, and signs.  The BEST part was the bunny pinata tied to Bryan's truck!  There was even a white loofah tied to the back of the truck for the bunny tail.  Nathan and Jordan were belly laughing so hard when they saw it!  Bryan and the boys got to go outside with grocery bags and hunt for eggs early this morning.  Oh gee...you know, you just have to laugh at stuff like this!  Life is too short to not take time to have a little fun right?!  And, we even cleaned all this up and still made it to church on time this morning!  Unbelievable!

This afternoon we dyed Easter eggs outside...yep, outside of course.  Thank goodness we did because there were quite a few splashes and messes!

After dying Easter eggs this afternoon, we did what the Calvert Boys do best...play outside!  Sidewalk chalk, the trampoline, rocks, trucks, cars, rolly pollies, a slide....what could be more fun to a little boy?!

Tomorrow is a special day because my sister and her family are coming all the way from Cali to stay with my parents for a week!  Woohoo!! Can not wait to hug their necks!
