It's Fall Ya'll!

And that means it is football season at the Calvert House! I took the boys to Bryan's 8th grade football game last night. They had a great time watching all the action! Nathan and Jordan were both sporting their Hawks t-shirts. So cute! When we got there, they were just wondering why Mama had them outside in all that commotion at bath time.

Vivi was there too! The cheerleaders were her favorite part!

And, this is Gavin! Gavin and his dad came to support Bryan's team last night. Gavin's parents, Matt and Christa are in our sunday school class. We just love them!

Go Hawks!

Oh Happy Day!

Saturday night was a very happy night at the Calvert House...so happy that I could hardly sleep that night! First, Jill text messaged me with great news that Brad had asked her to marry him! Of course, she said, "yes!" Oh, if you don't know my dear friend, Jill, then you are missing out. She is so special to me. Jill and I have been friends since we were 7 years old...that would be 21 years. We have been through so many stages of life together and I really believe the Lord spaced out our troubled times so that we could really be there for each other. When Jill told her little girl, Anna Claire, about her engagement, Anna Claire said, "It's about time. Do I get bunk beds?" I love that little girl. She is the best!

Congrats to Jill and Brad!

Then, Libby calls with great news that Brad (a different Brad of course) had proposed to her too! Libby is Bryan's sister and I just love her to pieces. She totally cracks me up! She is just beautiful inside and out. She calls everything like she sees it...wish I had a little more of that in me. We are so happy to have Brad join the family. Now if we could just get them to move about 4 hours a little further north and closer to home. ;)

Congrats to Libby and Brad!

Finally. A new post? Yes, I know!

Friends,

Being Mommy, teaching full time, keeping up with laundry, grading papers at night, cooking supper(sometimes) and keeping the house clean is quite a load! Therefore the blog gets the shaft late at night when I am so stinkin' tired that I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm sorry! Any working moms out there with words of encouragement? How do you find time to have your quiet time? I know I am not the Mom/teacher/wife/friend that I could be without my time with the Lord. I just haven't figured it out yet. Well, maybe I should get off my computer now to spend time in the Word. Duh. Oh, I was so jealous this morning. I called Paige to ask her a question. I was on my way to work. She was on her way to Biblestudy. You know, I LOVE my job. I LOVE all 90 of my 5th graders. I wouldn't trade it for any other job in the world. But, it is just plain hard some days to wear all my hats, and wear them with good spirits. But, that's enough of that.

So here are a few snippits from our week.

Cousin Luke celebrated his first birthday! Luke, Nathan, and Jordan are so close together in age. It will be so much fun to watch them grow up together.

Luke was not so much a fan of the cake. But, he did LOVE the ice cream!

Why do you need an engineering degree to open new toys these days? Luke was waiting so patiently for me to open his new boat. What a sweet boy!

On Sunday, we pulled for the Cowboys!

And, we celebrated Bryan's Mom's birthday! We finally got a picture of Bryce, Brayden, Jordan, and Nathan in the same frame. Bryce had to be bribed with a few pieces of candy. He does NOT like attention. :) They crack me up.

And, Brad and Libby came to visit. YAY! It was so much fun to see them. We miss them like crazy.

This "working mom" needs your words of wisdom this week. Thanks for listening/reading tonight. I love each and every one of you, my readers.

Bathtime Buddies!

Finally! Now that Nathan and Jordan are both sitting up so well, they can take a big boy bath together. This makes bathtime way more fun for them and so much easier for me. :) They just love to play (chew) toys and splash. And, I can entertain myself for a long time turning their hair into all sorts of crazy mohawks.

7 Months

Nathan and Jordan will be 7 months old tomorrow. Crazy how time flies! They are both sitting up and they love to sit together on their blanket to play toys. They are both mesmerized by the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song on Playhouse Disney. Thank goodness it's a cute song...not sure how cute it will be after like 1000 times. Nate-Dawg and Jordy love to eat green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash. They weren't big fans of peas. And, we have just started trying applesauce. They weren't too sure about the applesauce yesterday, but liked it a little more today.
Thanks to my Aunt Laura, the boys looked super cute for church this morning! She brought these shortalls for the boys when she came to Texas a few months ago. Believe it or not, we actually stopped by the park on the way to Sunday School this morning to snap a few shots while they were happy. :) It was an absolute miracle that we still made it to church on time.
