Black Belt and Red Belt!

Nathan tested for his red belt this weekend. He rocked it! I was beaming with pride for this kid! He was the only one testing for the red belt and completed his test solo.

He did awesome! He did so well in his public speaking that Mr.Burleson had him do it twice!

I love that Mr.McMeans invests his heart and soul in our boys. We are so grateful for his positive influence.

Jordan tested for his black belt! He was a superstar! So confident and well prepared!

Jordan broke his first board! He's still carrying it around the house two days later. :)

Two proud boys!!! (And a very proud Mama behind the camera)

And this one requested a crazy picture...of course...because he's Nathan. ;) and we ADORE him!

We took the boys to Chili's for supper to celebrate. Jordan ordered pizza, mashed potatoes, and chocolate milk. Yep. He did. When you work for two years to earn that Warrior Black Belt, you can have whatever you want for supper.

Tried to make pancakes today...

It was a total fail. I was super excited to find out about this pancake mix that has whey protein in it. We have to make sure Nathan has protein in his breakfast every morning because his focus medicine takes away his appetite. I thought this would be a great surprise for his breakfast that morning! But Bryan is obviously the pancake maker in the house! Oops! I was a tad bit more successful the next time. I sent this picture to Bryan at work. He sent back the eye-rolling emoji. We tend to use that little fella' to communicate a lot! Ha!

Mother's Day

I just wanted a sweet picture with my precious little loves before we headed to church. But, the big boys were way too cool this morning to take a picture...so what you can't tell from the picture is me saying, "just get in the car! Forget about the picture! I'll be sad forever because I don't have a 2016 Mother's Day picture!!" When I finally chilled out and we all got in the car, I realized the picture's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I love these four babies that made me a Mama...even when they make me crazy. On a sweet side note, Harper is wearing a dress that my mom made for me and Jenn when we were little girls. Jennifer had replaced the buttons when her girls wore it a few years ago. If I remember correctly, it originally had little kitty cat buttons.

My heart is always so tender on Mother's Day for women that long to be a mom but the Lord hasn't made that happen just yet. Or those that have recently lost a mother or child. My heart aches for you. I waited 3 long years to be a Mommy. It was so painful. I didn't understand. But I learned that God wanted to be glorified through my children and my experience. My wait and my pain were for His GLORY.

This year the kids and Bryan gave me the Just Dance game for Playstation4. It was the best Mother's Day gift ever! We spent Saturday challenging each other to dances. So fun! This family loves me so well.

Because they were actually being nice to each other...

Yep, I snapped this picture because all four kids were sitting this close to each other, sharing one iPad, and still acting like they like each other. There's hope.

My breakfast buddy

He's my early bird. He's passionate. He knows what he likes. He's determined. He's stubborn. And he sits on my bathroom counter every morning while I get ready...and eats my breakfast. Some mornings he makes me crazy but I'm sure there will be a day that I wish he was little enough to sit on my counter again.

Drive-In Movie Day

Harper and Carson were so excited about Drive-In Movie Day. Carson is still obsessed with tractors so Bryan rigged up an awesome tractor!

Cuties!

Little Sheep!

I got the sweetest text message and picture from Carson and Harper's teacher a couple of weeks ago...

"We are His sheep and He is the Shepherd!
After I gave the lesson today, they all put their little sheep faces on and I said "ok... YOU are the sheep, so WHO is our shepherd?" Everyone had a look on their faces like they didn't get it at all... and Carson yelled out "GOD"! He's so sharp!! "

I love that their teachers are teaching such great Spiritual Truths at such a young age.

Autism Awareness Day

In honor of our sweet cousin, Luke, we wore blue on April 2. Luke is brilliant and kind. He has beautiful blue eyes that can light up a room. Proud to wear blue for him.

Helpers

These two sure do love to wash strawberries for me. I can only hope they'll still have that helpful heart when they're 13.

What a big kid!

I could eat them up!

Carson and Harper's teacher sent me these two pics from school a couple of weeks ago. I might have shed a tear or two at school. I could just squeeze these little ones. Or I might put a brick on their head to keep them from growing up. Stay little forever Bubba and Sis!

The big Calvert Crew!

The egg hunting was fun! The food was delicious! The family time was priceless. But the very best part of Easter is celebrating a risen Savior. Our victory is in Jesus.
