My dear friend, "Pinkie," is retiring this school year. She is wonderful in every way. I love this lady. She inspires me to be a better me. She is an encourager. She's an exceptional teacher, energetic "Pinkie" -that's what her grandkids call her, and a devoted daughter of Christ. Pinkie can make anyone feel like they are special. She listens well, speaks wisdom and truth, and laughs a lot. I'll never forget when I had just returned to work after my maternity leave with the boys, I was so tired. I was so spread thin that I was feeling like a terrible wife, terrie housekeeper, terrible teacher, terrible mom because I couldn't give any one of those roles in my life 100% attention. I cried in her classroom that day. And she picked up her phone, with no hesitation, called her house-keeper and asked her to come clean my house! I was amazed, humbled, grateful, and honored. She paid for someone to clean my house! What a load off my back for that weekend. Pinkie- you are one very special friend. Happy Retirement! Love you always.
This special friend is retiring too! Can not wrap my brain around the idea that they won't be at School this fall. Pattie is one awesome school nurse. She was in the U.S. Air Force before entering the field of education. She is one tough lady! She's a proud Amercian and I love her strength. She has one beautiful daughter that she loves so well. This lady endured the 5th Grade Growth and Development Video every year. Even worse, she gladly answered all the kids' questions afterwards. She's a saint. She was always ready to help. She covered crosswalk and car duty countless times for teachers. She brewed coffee in her office every day for those that needed one more dose of caffeine after getting to school. She was always thinking of others and she always smiled too! Thanks Nurse Pattie! Happy Retirement! You deserve it!
