Peek-A-Boo!

Can you see these two curious faces peeking between the sofas at Gram's house? They crack me up!

Whew!

We just returned last night from a 14 hour road-trip to visit family in Georgia! The boys were awesome. Nathan was just a little cranky the last few hours of the drive home on Friday. In fact, when we finally pulled into our driveway on Friday night, my sister and I looked at each other and said, "That wasn't so bad." :) Jason (my brother-in-law) and Bryan sat in the front seats, Jenn (my sister) and Vivi (my niece) sat in the captain chairs, and I sat in the back between Nathan and Jordan. It was a wild and crazy road-trip but we sure did laugh a lot! We definitely got a good laugh when Jenn spilled a whole box of Mike-And-Ikes in the floor of the van, when I spilled a bottle of milk in my lap, when Vivi thought Bryan's "flatulent"App. on his phone was so funny, or when Jenn and I both admitted that we didn't tell many people that all 7 of us were driving in the same car to Georgia for Thanksgiving! We were too embarrassed to tell anyone because we thought everyone would think we were absolutely CRAZY! And, we might be. But, we made some great family holiday memories. :) Believe it or not: All seven of us are still friends after our week of family fun.

We finally made it to Memom's house and Aunt Laura had a special surprise for Princess Vivi...her very own "Fancy Nancy" crown, a "Fancy Nancy" tutu, and a new "Fancy Nancy" book. Vivi thought this was the greatest! Thanks for always making us feel so special, Aunt Laura!
Jordan and Nathan in their turkey shirts on Thanksgiving Day sitting in front of a BIG magnolia tree in my grandparents front yard.
Jason, Jenn and Vivi on Thanksgiving Day.
Grandaddy and Nathan :)
Mama was cookin' up a great meal! I should have worn elastic waste pants that day. We come from a family of women that know how to cook! That kitchen smelled so yummy.
While we were waiting for lunch on Thursday, Vivi got to run around in Memom's HUGE yard...brought back great childhood memories!
We tried to get a picture of the three cousins at my Memom Beam's house. When we told Vivi to put her arms around the boys, this is the picture we got. HA!
Memom Beam had her tree up. YAY! I LOVE Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving. :)

Memom Beam had a special early Christmas gift for Nathan and Jordan. Betsi (my super sweet cousin) helped Nathan open his present.
New toys!
Walking to the backyard to see the hunting dogs...The boys love dogs. Vivi thought these dogs were the 101 Dalmations. She cracks me up! 3 dogs or 101? She has quite an imagination and I love it!

Jordan loved the windows in Memom's sun portch. Thank goodness we had really great weather while we were there.

We had a special Thanksgiving and I hope you did too.
Much love,
Becca

Just a Morning at Gram's House

Every morning, Bryan takes the boys to Gram's house. (Gram is Bryan's mom) Bryan keeps telling me that the first thing Nathan and Jordan do is crawl over to Bear's bed to pet him, follow him around the house, and probably terrorize him til they make him crazy. :) Thank goodness Bear is the sweetest little Yorkie ever! Yesterday, he finally took some pictures with his phone. They just love this little bitty 5-pound dog to pieces! Poor Bear...gets A LOT of lovin' from these two crazy boys!

How do you like that bed-head?

Thanks for taking such good care of my boys, Gram! I am very grateful for you!

A Special Birthday Message from the Cutest Boys Ever!

Bryan and the Boys posted me a very special birthday message on Facebook today! Isn't this the sweetest and most thoughtful gesture you have ever seen?! (I think I accidently deleted it from my Facebook wall today when I was looking at it on my iPhone. I could just kick myself! I'm not quite comfortable with the sensitive iPhone screen yet.)

9 Months Old and Full of Tricks!

Nathan and Jordan are 9 months old today! They are both crawling everywhere so this primary colored monstrosity is now where my kitchen table use to be located. Nice, huh?! When you have to keep your eyes on two of them crawling really fast in opposite directions, this is what you have to resort to. Amber, get ready! The decor in your house might totally change in a few months. ;) Bethany and Zachary will be into everything before you know it!

And they LOVE to stand up in their bed and giggle after naptime. They don't share a bed anymore, but it is so sweet to put them in the same bed right after they wake up from nap.
Or, just chew on the rails of the crib!
At 9 months...
  • Jordan and Nathan are both crawling. But, Jordan is a little faster. :)
  • J and N both say buh, buh, buh...and da, da, da, da... and ma, ma, ma, ma.
  • Nathan is fascinated with his tongue.
  • Jordan gets a little bashful around new people or a crowd.
  • Nathan shows off around strangers and smiles so big at everyone right now.
  • Jordan can pull up on anything! He will be walking before we know it.
  • Nathan tries so hard to pull up, but he's just not quite strong enough yet.
  • J and N love their baby food, not such a fan of their bottles anymore (but I do make them drink it, too many nutrients that they need in that formula!)
  • J and N love to eat Gerber Puffs! It was so funny to watch them learn to pick those little things up and try to make it to their mouth. Now, they finally have the hang of it.
  • J and N fit perfectly in 6 - 12 month clothes and some of those are a little snug.
  • J and N love the nursery at church ( so far ). I am sure we will go through that separation anxiety phase, but we are not there yet.
  • J and N smile when they see Mimi, Grandad, Gram, PaPa, Aunt Emily, and Aunt Jenn.
  • And, their favorite song is the "Hot Dog" song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Happy Nine Months Boys! It's so fun to watch you grow!

And They're Off!

Nathan got a major head start, but that stubborn Jordan still pulled out a win!

Their personalities have been so opposite since the day they were born. CRAZY how the Lord forms and creates us with every detail in mind. We are born with special God-given personalities and gifts. It is our obligation and privilege to use those personalities and gifts to honor and glorify Him! I have seen that so clearly in these two little boys of ours. I am praying that Jordan's strength and energy and Nathan's compassion and gentleness will be such a vital part in their walk with Christ. Gives me goose-bumps. Isn't this a tiny picture of the Body of Christ?!

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ....speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work" (Ephesians 4: 11- 16)

Much love,

Becca
