Sunday School with Jordy and Nater-Tot

Nathan and Jordan have such fantastic nursery workers in sunday School. We are so blessed!  Miss Amy gave us these pictures of their fun morning yesterday.

Jordan has a ball and a snack...that means he is one happy kid.  If you don't know my Jordy, then you have no idea how SERIOUS he is about HIS snack.

Here's Nathan, always ready for a good party!  He thinks this tunnel is the best thing ever.

These were my favorite!  Bunny ears!  How fun is that?!

It's so fun to see what the boys were doing while we were not around!

Dancin' Queen

Okay, so you have seen the pictures of Vivi at dance class, but you have not seen the video. It is a "must watch." She cracks me up! I love this little girl so much.

She might be a few steps behind the whole time, but she is definitely the cutest one there...don't ya think?!

A Day at the Zoo!

We have very few pictures to show of our fun day at the zoo...Maybe Gram and PaPa got some better pics!

Tricky Nathan is trying his best to steal his cousin's snack!

A little too much zoo fun warrants a great stroller nap!  (If you notice Nathan's hair is a little greasy, it is.  Sorry bud!  I put sunscreen on his head because his hair is still so thin.  I was so afraid he would get sunburned on his head.  Oh gee.  He will probably be a greasy mess all summer!  I am such a silly sunscreen freak.  Poor little guy!)

Can't Sleep

It's Wednesday night (18 minutes til Thursday morning) of Spring Break and I can't sleep.  We have had such a wonderful Spring Break so far and today was the midpoint...ugh...school begins again in just a few short days.  We stayed at home for the first few days of the week to let Nathan get over the flu.  I didn't want anyone else to catch that awful thing.

I had a little help with the dishes on Monday morning!  HA!  And, yes, these are my great parenting skills.  Bryan was out working in the yard (which really was in need of some TLC!)  and I was loading the dishwasher.  The boys kept tag-teaming me to get into the dishwasher and after fighting them off over and over again, I finally decided just to take a picture!  :)  And, I am glad I did.

Tonight Bryan rented a movie.  I think it was called "Taken."  It was scary.  I watched it with him and this is why I can't sleep.  The movie was basically about a father going to all sorts of lengths to find and save his kidnapped daughter.  It gives me chills just thinking about it.  Ever since the boys were born, I get so emotionally involved in stories like these.  And, all I can think about now is the responsibility Bryan and I have to keep Jordan and Nathan safe and at the same time, let them live life.  You know?

So, tonight, I will be claiming this scripture as I try again to go to sleep.  Thanks, Amanda, for sharing it with me many months ago.  I keep it very close to my heart!

"He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
Isa. 40:11

"Mega-Desk 2.0"

Can you tell that today is the Friday before Spring Break?

"Mega-Desk"

For those of you that watch The Office...

Bryan was in a big hurry to get out the door to work this morning.  Hmmmm...wonder why...I got this picture emailed to me from his iPhone a couple hours ago.  Bryan's desk is the desk against the wall with the computer on it.  Looks like he worked real hard this morning to find an extra teacher desk, pull it into his office, to multiply its size into "Mega-desk." Ha!

Flu Bug - Bleh!

That stinkin' flu bug has finally caught up with our house.  The boys both had their seasonal flu vaccine and their H1N1 flu vaccine but that Flu Monster has invaded our home anyway!  My Nathan woke up coughing this morning so I sent some medicine with him to Gram's house but then, sure enough, she called a few hours later that he was running fever.  Daddy and Gram took the little man to the doctor and yep, he's got it.  The Flu.  Poor baby is so sad.

Here he is sitting in the backseat of Daddy's car waiting in line at Walgreens for his prescription.  His little eyes just scream that he doesn't feel good.

I took the day off work tomorrow to give him lots of Mama-hugs. Tomorrow will be a pajama day at the Calvert house.

It's a...

GIRL!  In August, we will welcome Georgia Elizabeth Parker to the family.  Another baby niece!  Vivi is just so excited.  Of course, she thought it was a girl the whole time so she is not so surprised.  HA!  Baby Georgia and her proud Aunt Becca will share a middle name too.  So special.

Tomorrow is a big day!

My sister, Jennifer, is expecting a baby in August.  We could not be more excited!!  I just LOVE my nieces and nephews.  Tomorrow is a big day because Jenn gets to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl...oooooohhh I just can not wait!  When Vivi was born, Jenn and Jason chose not to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl.  And, I was so certain that Vivi was a boy right up until the moment she was born.  It just tickles me that Jennifer is actually going to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl.  So fun!  I better make sure my cell phone is all charged up for tomorrow.  I don't want to miss this phone call.  If this is a boy, he will rock Vivi's little princess world.  If this baby is a girl, then she will be another little princess.

I'll fill you in tomorrow on the big news!

See what I mean by a little boy will rock this princess' world?  Vivi is the only one at dance class with a "Fancy Nancy Tiara" and flower petals in her tutu!  Is she not the cutest thing EVER?!  I LOVE HER!

A few things that I don't want to forget...

Before I begin, I have to give big props to Kelly at FabulousK Blog Designs.  She redesigned my blog a few weeks ago and I am so thankful!  I love it!  We have a new name..."Big Dreams and Pocket Treasures."  This refers to the big dreams of little boys and all the treasures that collect in their pockets.  I love that I get to be a mama to boys...oh I can only imagine the things in store for our family.

As March 7th approaches, and on that day my boys will be 13 months old, I wanted to record a few little things for me to remember about my boys at 12 months old.

Nathan and Jordan, you are my doodle-bugs, funny monkeys, crazy boys, stinker winker bears, and love-bugs.  I can not even express how much I love you...to the moon and back isn't even big enough. Your Daddy and I find so much joy in your little lives.  And, we pray that your lives will be big and that you will someday fall in love with Jesus.  We pray that you will have a good sense of humor and a good heart for others.  We think you are the cutest and funniest boys ever.  Love you!

Jordy- Let's see...your favorite foods are Gerber meat sticks (yuck), sweet peas, baked sweet potato fries, cheese toast, cheerios, peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, and yogurt.  I can't believe I ever fed you those nasty meat sticks in the first place.  Now, it is a fight to get you to eat real chicken or hamburger meat...well, except for Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets.  You ate those things up!!  You love to take all your little people toys and move them from one box to another and back.  It cracks us up!  You also love to play with a ball and with your cars.  You LOVE Elephant and your paci.  We do not leave the house without both of them.  You nod your head when you agree or see something that you like.  We laugh every morning at your crazy bed head.  It is wild.  You love to read books and you are my real snuggle bug.  You are so close to walking by yourself.  And, you are still crazy about Elmo.  He makes your face totally light up every time you see him.  Bathtime and meal time are your favorite times of the day.  Oh, and I have to tell you that you have quite a temper.  Son, we are working on that.  Don't worry.  I think you get that from your Daddy.  I've always said that if your Daddy didn't know Jesus, his temper would be way too hot.  Praise the Lord that your Daddy's road rage never gets to bad words or middle fingers!  :)  We love you to pieces, my Jordy.

Nater-Tot - You are the life of the party!  Your smile is so contagious.  For real.  Your favorite foods are mac 'n cheese, meat sticks, sweet peas, baked sweet potato fries, puffs, cheese toast, mandarin oranges, peaches, pears, and yogurt.  You are not attached to any toy or stuffed animal and you are still not a big fan of snuggling unless you are sick or super duper tired.  But, you give the biggest hugs and the best pats on the back ever!  You are still the best sleepin' baby in all the world.  Daddy and I know that when we lay you down at 7:00 every night, we will not hear a sound from you until after 7:00 the next morning.  It is heaven.  You love to push your fire truck around the house and put your basketball through your toddler sized basketball hoop.  And, we all clap and smile and cheer every time.  :)  You love to read books.  Every night when you and Jordan sit in the chair with me or Daddy to read books before bed, it is always your job to turn the pages.  You love Elmo too.  Elmo taught you to love the Hokey Pokey song and you get real tickled when I sing it for you and turn in circles.  I will act like a fool forever if it makes you laugh.  We love you to pieces, Nathan.

Daddy and I are still so humbled that the Lord chose us to be YOUR parents.  It's a big job and we do not take it for granted.  We are so thankful for you and all the joy you bring to our family.
And to my sweet blog readers, if you made it all the way down here, thanks for enduring my sentimental evening.  Oh goodness, how time flies.  I love all of you too.
