Knee surgery is not fun....
A post by Bryan:
About five years ago I tore up my knee playing basketball against some of our students at school. Last spring I decided to give it another shot and sure enough, I did it again! My entire goal was to NOT get hurt and about thirty seconds into the game I planted hard and immediately went down. I didn't see a doctor because I figured that I simply made another tear in my meniscus. In hindsight I believe that I partially or completely tore my ACL. Fast forward to the fall and I had started running again when, without warning in the middle of a run, I felt a pop and had a searing hot pain in my knee. A week later an MRI confirmed that I had a severe tear in my meniscus and my ACL was torn completely in half. Bummer. Becca and I agreed to moved forward with the surgery with the understanding that a "convenient" time was something that just doesn't exist when you have four small kids at home. I had the surgery on a Monday which allowed me to have three full weeks before having to return to work. The first few days were brutal and it's a slow recovery. In fact I'll have to go to physical therapy for nine months before I'm released for any athletic activities.
It's been a strange three weeks. It's honestly the first chance I've had to catch my breath in the past four years. That was around the time I moved from coaching to administration and also found out Becca was pregnant with our second set of twins. I've caught up on a lot of reading and movies but I'm ready to get back to our normal routine. I'm pretty sure Becca feels like she inherited a fifth kid over the past three weeks! She has been having to take care of everything but she has handled it like a rockstar. She's a pretty tough chick! She's also relieved the stressful moments by telling people stories of bringing me home from the hospital and all about the things I supposedly said and did (not sure I fully believe her)!
My view.....8 hours a day in the CPM machine.
My first major trip out of the house was a little embarrassing as I took out a few shelf corners at Target....and why must it beat so loudly while in reverse?!
I'm so thankful for all the meals from friends, help from parents and grandparents, for my kids helping out, and for my awesome wife! I can't wait for this knee to heal so life can return to normal!

Western Day
These two munchkins were so excited about "Cowboy Day!" They were especially excited to wear their boots to school and ride the horse. Harper asked this morning if she could ride the pink horse. Bless her. She thinks all things should come in pink...even horses.
Sassy little girl...
A little hat hair???? Ha!

Dragon Dash
We've had a little rain here lately so Dragon Dash had to be held inside the school. The boys were so excited that they were able to RUN IN THE HALLWAY that day.
Halloween 2015
Cousin fun!
Little Princess..
Trick or Treating was fun! Harper figured out the trick or treating real fast and before she left the doorstep of one house, she was saying,"I go next house." Thankfully no one can understand anything she says and they all just thought she was so cute! Ha! She was totally into trick or treating for the candy!
-Book Character Parade
Jordan, as Darth Vader, and Nathan, as Luke, on Book Character Day in school. The boys were so excited! They gave me very specific instructions that they didn't want to be anything "cute" for Book Character Day this year. Darth Vader and Luke are definitely not "cute."
Spotted Nathan and Eli in the parade first.
Then Jordan scooted on by quickly...can you tell from the blur???
Pumpkin Patch
Fall is here! These kiddos sure did enjoy their trip to The Pumpkin Patch!
A house made of hay!!
Farm animals!
This girl...such a climber!
My little loves---so much to be thankful for right there. The Lord provides. The Lord heals. The Lord's will prevails. God ordains our days on this earth. The Lord hears. The Lord answers prayers. The Lord is faithful through all generations. So many truths from scripture evident in the lives of these 4.
Life is good. But that corn maze made us CRAZY! I think there should be a parent-app with a secret map or something. I'm pretty sure that corn maze gets a little trickier every year!
Nap time
Carson and Harper's teachers sent me these pictures of naptime. Sweetest thing ever!!!...
Carson loves his sister. Melt.my.heart.
