What a weekend!
Friday night - I stayed home with the babies while Bryan went the grocery store. Since we have had kids, our grocery store trips can not be put off an extra week...totally different.
Saturday morning- Bryan stayed home with the babies while I went to school to test 4th and 5th graders to qualify for our advanced math program.
Saturday afternoon - I made a fresh jar of homeade salsa...yum!
Saturday evening - We went to the McCowns' house. Maggie and Mollie Grace are getting so big! We just love spending time with our dear friends, Mark and Meredith. Meredith always requests that I bring salsa when we eat supper at their house. And of course, I love to cook for people so I always whip up a bowl of fresh salsa for her! Maybe I'll share that recipe later this week.
Sunday morning - Sunday school and Big church. It feels so good to be back in our routine. The boys have done great in the nursery. Well, except for Jordan's blowout diaper this week. He somehow messed up his cute plaid overalls, but not the polo style onesie he was wearing underneath it. So, when we picked him up from the nursery, his overalls were in a little plastic bag and he was almost naked. :) Fun.
Sunday lunch - We were so thrilled to go out to lunch with Heath, Janelle, Ella, Curt, Amanda, Jackson, and Annabeth. Curt and Amanda were in town for the weekend and it was so much fun to visit. Annabeth is only 4 days older than Jordan and Nathan...so cute! Little Jackson is talking so much and asking all kinds of adorable questions...love it!
Sunday afternoon - Bryan and I took the boys over to his parents' house for a few hours. Jan and I fed the boys. After that, PaPa was holding Jordan and Gram was holding Nathan which meant it was the perfect time for me to take a little nap! I got a good 45 minute shut-eye on Paul and Jan's couch. It was heaven!
Sunday night - Jordan started to develop a cough and it just kept getting worse.
Monday afternoon - I took him to the doctor and his nasal passages are swollen, he is congested, his eye is gooky, and his skin is really dry. Dr. Scott said, "This kid definitely has allergies." Of course he does! Bryan and I both suffer from stupid allergies. Now sweet little Jordan is on Benadryl until his symptoms improve. Then, Dr. Scott proceeded to ask me what kind of lotion I have been using on Jordan's skin. And I told him that I use pink or purple baby lotion...duh...isn't that what all babies use. And, it smells so great! Dr.Scott's response, "That stuff is crap. It's like scented water." Hah! Who knew!? So, little Jordan gets old school Curel from now on. But, maybe a little pink lotion on top?! I just love that pink lotion baby smell. Our pediatrician (Dr. Scott) cracks me up. He really tells it like it is.
Now that I have told you every detail from our weekend, as if you wanted to hear every detail, here are some pictures of our Sunday lunch with the Jones and Hartsfield famlies!

Jordan is a Champ!
The surgery was a little more extensive than we thought it would be. Jordan ended up having three incisions...bless his little heart! He was not allowed to eat after 5:45 that morning and his surgery was not until 12:45. I could have had one fussy baby on my hands, but the hospital nurses spoiled sweet Jordan with a vanilla flavored soothie! I was so happy to have that vanilla soothie! It was awesome! He loved it and it kept him happy until his surgery. However, my expression quickly changed when the nurse came to get Jordan for his surgery.
I cried big tears when I had to lay him on that big hospital bed to be wheeled off to the O.R. Thank goodness the nurse that took him to the O.R. was super nice and I was so glad that she had a really sweet voice. I like to think she talked to Jordan in her sweet voice while they were prepping him for surgery. My mom and dad and Bryan's mom and dad were at the hospital with us to love on Jordan. I'm so glad they were there because it seemed like forever before they brought us back to the recovery room to see him. I cried even bigger tears when I got to hold him after the surgery. My little baby was hooked up to so many wires and monitors. And, the patients in recovery were only separated by a curtain so I could hear so many children crying or scared. Those sad sounds made this mama's heart hurt. Jordan had some trouble coming out of the anesthesia which caused some very anxious moments. The nurses had warned me that little babies have trouble getting back into a regular breathing pattern after anesthesia. Jordan would hold his breath for a few seconds, and his oxygen level would dramatically drop. I would massage his chest and hold the oxygen mask over his mouth and nose to make sure he was breathing. It was really scary. I tried my best to remain calm and followed all the nurse's instructions. After a couple of hours, Jordan was back to his regular breathing patterns. However, I did NOT take my eyes off of his oxygen monitor all night. I sat and watched it until at least 3 in the morning and then I finally woke up at 6:30 in the morning. I did not close my eyes on purpose that night, but I guess my body just gave up (or the Lord knew I needed at least 3 hours of sleep!). 
Jordan woke up playing and smiling on Saturday morning and Mimi and Grandaddy brought Nathan to visit.
And, he was finally eating normally yesterday. I am so proud of my cute Jordan. He was such a brave little boy last weekend. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. We really appreciate you!
P.S. - Today was my first day back to work...am I going to be one exhausted girl or what?! As hard as it was to leave my boys this morning, I was happy to see my 5th graders. My mom is retired and able to keep the boys this spring until I am out for the summer. I knew all day today that Jordan and Nathan were in good hands, but I was so excited to get home this afternoon!

My little Jordan is having surgery. He will have a hernia repair on his left side and a scope on the right side. Because of the anesthesia he will need for the surgery, Jordan will be admitted to the hospital and monitored there for 24 hours. Bryan and I will be spending the night at the hospital with him while Mimi and Grandaddy keep Nathan. Today is emotional. I worry about Jordan's safety...he's only 8 weeks old. And, I am going to miss my Nathan like crazy! So, if you read this post in the next 24 hours, send a little prayer up for us.

A Day at the Zoo
Don't worry...I'm not completely crazy. I realize that Jordan and Nathan had NO IDEA they were even at the zoo for the afternoon. Jenn called yesterday morning at about 9:00 and asked if the boys and I wanted to go to the zoo with her, Jason, and Vivi. I jumped on the opportunity to be outside in the fresh air all day! However, I only had two hours to take a shower, get dressed, pack the diaper bag for the day, feed the boys, get the boys dressed and get in the car. When we all finally got in the car and I was pulling out of the driveway, I was seriously out of breath. I felt like I had run a marathon! Well, I have never run a marathon so I have no idea what that really feels like, but I like to think it was similar. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our zoo day...it was a beautiful day!
