Doesn’t everyone decorate the Christmas tree in a hot dog costume?
Bryan and I finally caved and restrung the lights on the Christmas tree. Only took about 9 stinking hours!!!! I am sore today and the skin on my fingers is so chapped that it burns when I wash my hands! Ha! Those pre-lit lights were tied, twisted, looped, and clipped to that tree. Harper and Nathan helped hang the ornaments back up tonight. Jordan and Carson helped for about 5 seconds before they headed upstairs to play legos. But Harper and Nate happily sang their own tunes of Christmas songs while hanging up all the ornaments with me AGAIN.

The Christmas Capital of Texas
We took the kids to see Santa a couple days ago. And we definitely couldn’t skip the carosel ride afterwards. Harper told Santa she wants a unicorn bike helmet. Carson wants a bike helmet with spikes and a green bike. Nathan wants a video game and Jordan requested new baseball equipment. So fun! The Christmas Season is here!
I love this one! Silly natural smiles with reindeer antlers! Stay little always.
40 Years and Fabulous!
Gram and PaPa have been married 40 years. What a reason to celebrate! They have set quite a legacy for our Calvert Family.
A Waco Weekend
We took the kids to Waco for a Baylor basketball game on Friday night and a football game Saturday afternoon. What a fun weekend of family time!
We ran into one of my former students that is now a Baylor cheerleader...so happy to hug her neck! Gracie was a tiny 5th grader just a short time ago.
These kids had a great time! And I think they were equally as excited about their waffles at the hotel shaped like Texas. Ha!

Aunt Jenn tried to get a good picture
Nathan and Jordan were so excited for Aunt Jenn to pick them up on a school night to go see Vivi’s play! Vivi sure is a cute little elf!
JP...steady and solid in everything he does
We got this awesome email from Jordan’s teacher a few weeks ago...
Good Afternoon,
I wanted to brag on your sweet boy today. He takes a lot of pride in setting up his math notebook. He always has a smile and works very hard in the classroom. I love his ideas for solving problems and he is always ready to help others as needed.
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
All the best,
Lorrie Arst
Ahhhh! When this happens, those tough parenting days are worth it.
Nate the Great!
This kid amazes us. He struggled in school kinder - 2nd grade. He had the most amazing foundation of teachers that continued to believe in him and we cheered him on too. After a diagnosis in 1st grade of ADD and ADHD combined, we saw major improvements. He learned to read in 1st grade and was such a happy kid. He told me the other day that his second grade teacher, Mrs.Duff, taught him to love books. That made me smile. With the combination of a good group of friends and 3rd grade teachers that believe in him, challenge him, and encourage him...this kid has soared! I got this picture of him walking through the hallway with his book from Mrs.Andrews a couple weeks ago and it made my heart smile! He has overcome so many obstacles and he keeps working hard and we are so proud. Nate is one super cool kid.
By the way, he writes “Nate” on l his school papers now...his new nickname, thanks to his baseball coach! I love it...fits him perfectly.

Fixing the Christmas lights...
...is serious business. And we are having a Christmas tree light disaster...the strands keep burning out one by one. We’ll be lucky to have lights on Christmas Day.
When you get this picture from the principal at your child’s school....
Nate paid his Dragon Dollars for lunch with the principal again. Calvin, Weston, Jordan, and Nathan loved their lunch with Mr.Fike. He is one brave man!

Cars Derby
With a little help from his brothers, Carson set up his own Cars 3 Demolotion Derby Race!
LEGO Jr Princess
This girl used a gift card from MeMe and Grandad to buy a LEGO junior set. She put that ice cream truck together in no time! She also took it apart and followed the directions to put it together again several times. She loves herself some legos!
Happy Halloween!
Trick or Treat Fun!
Nathan went as a hot dog because he loves hot dogs. Carson is Captain America! Harper is Moana. She was super disappointed because I made her wear shoes to Trick or Treat...because Moana doesn’t wear shoes. Jordan loves his coach costume! He’s always ready to be in charge. It was a fun night full of family and candy!
Baby Cal joined in on the Trick or Treating!
Book Character Day
Nate decided to go as Harry Potter again...we’ll actually I think he told me he was one of Harry’s friends? Jordan is a Cowboys Football Coach. Of course Jordan would choose to be the coach...always wanting to be in charge...fits his personality perfectly.
Calvin’s Texas Aggie costume was amazing!
I only ended up with a picture of Jordan’s class, thanks to Calvin’s mom!
