As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

"Train up a child in the way he should go. Even when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
We had Nathan and Jordan's baby dedication on Sunday. Pastor John made it so personal by referring to the length of time we prayed for a baby. If you are reading this and praying for a baby, my heart aches for you. But, know that in God's perfect timing, He will bless you for your faithfulness. We know that full well! It was so special to have my parents (left) and Bryan's parents (right) to join us in front of the church. They will be such a vital part of Nathan and Jordan's spiritual growth. They are the reason Bryan and I are "Jesus Freaks." We had parents that prayed with us and for us, made church a priority, served others, and demonstrated God's love every single day. This baby dedication is our public commitment to teach our children about Jesus and raise them in a home where God comes first.

Love this! Like Nathan is saying, "Come on, Brother!"

Bryce, Brayden, and Vivi

And this was our efforts to get a picture of Nathan and Jordan with Vivi...

I think she is getting a little annoyed...It's just the beginning, baby girl...Sorry!

And it continues...

Oops! "Nathan, don't eat her dress honey!"

"Vivi, have you had enough darlin'?!"

And she ESCAPES! I don't blame her! Poor thing!

We tried to get some pics of the boys with Brayden and Bryce...ummm...we didn't even get one shot of that. HA!

Much love,

Becca

Back to School

Summer is officially over. Bummer.

Ugh. I was about to write about how I am so sad that summer is over and it really stinks and everything. But, I can't. I just thought about the previous post and my friend, Katie. How can I complain? I can't.

My husband is here. My two little baby boys are sleeping soundly in the next room. I have a job.

I am thankful.

Praying...

For The Rowe Family today. Katie is a friend of mine from our TriDelta days at Baylor. She and her sweet family have experienced heartbreak that I can not even imagine.

Cooper Is SOOOO FUNNY!

No one can crack Nathan up like Cooper can! Nathan will just watch Cooper roam through the living room and cackle the whole time. So funny!

Sad Day at The Calvert House

Grown Up Harley
Teen Harley

Baby Harley

We gave our sweet Harley to a new family today. That little Yorkie has been our baby for 5 years. Since Nathan and Jordan were born, our little bitty house had gotten quite overcrowded with two dogs, two babies, and two parents. The dogs weren't getting the attention that they needed. And, not to mention Harley was always a little territorial, hence the "terrier" in his name. His territorial nature made me a little nervous as the boys are becoming more and more mobile every day. His new family is a friend of a friend and I am pretty sure he will be very very spoiled. Bryan and I have been crying big tears for 3 days now. Our house is a little more quiet tonight...a little sad. We know this is for the best.

My favorite Harley memories -

  • He chewed up our kitchen in our first apartment. I mean CHEWED it up! When we moved out of that apartment, Bryan bought a can of white spray paint and some sand paper to make repairs. Lo and behold, we did not have to pay a dime for all that chewin'! I couldn't believe it!
Harley, the puppy, loved to shred a magazine. I can not even count the number of times I walked into the living room to find my Southern Living magazine in a million pieces.
  • Harley did not like to walk. He liked to run.
  • Harley can hunt a lizard or chase a squirrel like a mad man.
  • Harley's favorite treat is a raw carrot. He will snub his nose at a dog bone.
  • Harley's favorite spot is under our bed.
  • Harley can give the best kisses!

We will miss our Harley. Now Cooper will get double the love! He is actually getting to sit on our bed right now while Bryan and I are both on our computers. My heart is so soft tonight.

Much love,

Becca

Welcome to Texas!

My dear friend from college, Paige, and her cute family came to visit all the way from Florida last weekend. They were on their way to SanAntonio for business and made a quick 24 hour stop here. Here we are with our little ones.
Oh they are going to be great friends! I was about to say they could be pen pals, but I guess that is a little ancient. They could be Twitter friends or Facebook friends or whatever new Web 2.0 idea comes up next.

My Father-In-Law Will Be Proud!

I made a late night trip to Wal-Mart tonight for groceries and I actually bought 14 generic items. I couldn't resist them when so many generic items were almost half the price of the name brand item! Bryan and his sisters swear that when they were growing up, their dad would refill the name brand Cheerios box and name brand PopTart box with generic Cheerios and generic PopTarts. He tried his best to outsmart those stinkers! Isn't that funny?! I almost bought generic ketchup, but I thought that might be taking this generic frenzy a little too far! At least for tonight. Maybe next time the generic ketchup will be well worth saving my dollar. It was a giant leap for me to buy generic stewed tomatoes. So, Paul, are you proud?

Much Love,

Becca
