Memorial Day

Today we praise God for the sacrifices and dedication of the servicemen of our country.  I explained Memorial Day to the boys this morning and we counted every American flag we saw on the 10 minute drive to MeMe and Grandad's house.  Would you believe the boys counted 71 American flags posted on homes and businesses?!  How cool to see so much patriotic pride!  We enjoyed the day with family, hamburgers, and playing at the park...

Preschool Graduation

It just can not be true.  Nathan and Jordan will finish their last week of preschool this week.  Their teachers put together the most adorable preschool graduation last week.  Nathan and Jordan had a hard time going to sleep tonight because they are so excited about the bounce houses at school tomorrow.  Nathan came out of his room (when he was suppose to be sleeping) and asked if they "could have donuts tomorrow because it's a special day and we get to have donuts on special days."  So cute.  (sort of.)  Not so cute when Mommy and Daddy are super tired and are trying to get all of our chores done while the kids are sleeping (or should be sleeping.)  Plus our kids get donuts for breakfast like twice a year.  Ha!  Anyway, I can not believe my babies are FIVE years old and entering kindergarten in just a few months.

We are so proud of these two...

These were the Cradle Roll Graduates - kids that had been in the preschool program since the One's class.  These are some special friends.

Summer must be getting close!

We took the kids to get ice cream at Sonic BEFORE supper and the babies were just wearing a onesie!  Ha!  Nothing like a cold treat on a warm day!

The sweet girl at Sonic gave the babies a complimentary ice cream cone.  They were in heaven!

Fifties Drive-In Movie Day!

Bryan's creativity shined again this year with a Spider-man and Superman car.

The babies liked playing in the cars the night before school.

All ready for the fun tradition at preschool!!!

Easter

We love celebrating the LOVE and SACRIFICE of Jesus during the Easter holiday.  We praise God for sending his one and only son to die on the cross and bear the burden of our sin.  Up from the grave he arose!  And now he has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of those who believe.  We are alive in Christ because he died for us.  Do you know Him?!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:23

We started Easter weekend with an Easter Egg hunt with our church Sunday School class.  Such sweet friends! The kids loved it...eggs, crafts, bubbles, candy, cookies...great time had by all!

The Easter Bunny hopped on by Saturday night...The kids were so tickled to find prizes in their basket on Sunday morning.

We got all dressed up for Easter Sunday at church.

We tried to get a picture of all four...not so successful.

We tried to get a cousin picture at MeMe's house.  It was a good try.

My mom had her table perfectly arranged and decorated...beautiful green plants, silver cross, "He is Risen" frame, bunnies, candles...it was absolutely perfect.  Until....Nathan and Jordan showed up.
The boys were snickering in the next room and lo and behold there were all kinds of creatures at each table setting!  Oh my word.  This IS life with boys. And I get tickled every day.

More egg hunting at MeMe and Grandad's house!

Then on to celebrate Easter with the Calverts.  All the cousins headed over to Granny's house for our big annual Easter egg hunt!

Even the little babies hunted eggs filled with cereal and crackers.  So cute!

We are so blessed to go to church with close family.  Baby Kate and Harper are cousins and 3 months apart.  They get to play in the same nursery class every week at church.  Precious girls gonna be friends forever!

Well Kate might not want to be Harper's friend if she keeps stealing her snacks!

Such a blessed day.
