First Day of First Grade!

Nathan and Jordan were so pumped about First Grade!

Harper and Carson wanted their picture taken on the front porch too!  Little muffins.

It's a special day! Even the Dragon was there to greet the kids!

Jordan is so thrilled to have Mrs. Evans.

Nathan is tickled to have Mrs.Graviett!

These two boys are going to do great things this year.  We are so proud.

Last Official Day of Summer

Yesterday was my official last day of summer.  Teachers go back full time on Monday and the kids come back one week after that.  It's always so bittersweet to start a new school year.  I sure do love my job and a fresh start with new fifth graders is always fun, but it sure is tough to leave my 2 year olds at home.   C and H are the most hysterical little munchkins ever.  Harper has a new fascination with all things Princess.  She's quite a girly girl!  Carson loves a ball and glove...he says, "Play catch?"  The big boys are super excited about 1st grade and they are so ready!

I totally soaked up the day with these four.

We started the day with building a tent in the living room.

And we played at the Splash Pad.

It was a good day to end the summer.

13th year of teaching...bring it on!!

JP (aka "PG"-that's what Carson calls him)LOST A TOOTH!

I'm a little late in posting Jordan's first tooth fairy experience...he lost a tooth on July 26.  He was super excited!

Summer! Slow Down!

These kids sure have enjoyed the sunshine this summer!  Just a few more days and we will be back into our routine.

Fun with friends!--

Georgia and Orange Beach

We made our annual cross-country trip to Georgia in July. It was both fun and exhausting! It's always fun to go and visit our Georgia family! The kids love getting to see everyone and love staying at Memom's house.
Just one of MANY pit stops along the way! It's hard to get the kids out of Buccee's in less than 20 minutes!
Finally made it to Vicksburg! Half way to Georgia....
We literally stop at EVERY Chick-fil-a between Dallas and Bowden, GA while traveling....so do you want nuggets or nuggets? How about some nuggets this time? :)
Harper's summer obsession is bird houses because of her favorite book, The Best Nest. Harper loved walking around Memom's giant yard looking at all the bird houses.

The kids loved Aunt LaLa's dog! Harper kept telling us about the dog even after we got home..."He liked me!"

Uncle Tommy had to bring the babies a tractor from his hardware store. The tractor was a HUGE hit! Uncle Tommy usually sends the kids home with something extra every summer.
Four generations! Harper, you're in great company! I pray that you grow to love the Lord like your mom, Meme, and Memom and that you learn to cook like them as well :).
The boys always look forward to hanging out with Evan, Rylan, and Clay. They always have a blast together! It's been fun to watch these kids grow over the years.

Carson loves his "Bear-Bear"
All the kids love Memom but Nathan has always seemed to gravitate towards her...caught this sweet moment of them visiting together (I think she won his heart with homemade banana bread when he was just a toddler)

It's always hard to say goodbye to Memom....
We all decided to drive down to Orange Beach, Alabama this year after we left Georgia. We had a great time. Jordan and Nathan said they wanted to stay for two weeks next time! :)

Harper LOVED the beach from the moment her little chubby toes hit the sand! I love this girl so much!

Carson was a little unsure about the sand, he said "it's dirty", and "there's bugs in there!" and "I need my shoes!"
Mr. OCD was actually taking napkins at dinner and trying to clean the beach! :) Bless his little perfectionist heart!

Loving life!
Jordan and Nathan couldn't get enough of the beach. Even a few jelly fish stings couldn't keep Jordan out of the water.
Jordan had a great time and was very successful at catching fish in his net.
Nathan was all about the waves! He would get thrashed around and pushed under water and would coming up laughing like a hyena!

Carson needed a little snuggle time with his mama.
LAST STOP on the way home after a great family vacation!
P.S. It took me about five hours to clean out the van after being on the road for 10 days.
