He did it!

My Jordy actually slept through the night two nights in a row...praying for many more to come and hoping we don't have to go through that again! After getting a TON of suggestions from a lot of people and trying everything I could think of to get him to sleep through the night again, Jennifer checked out a book from her pediatrician's office for us. "How to Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems" by Dr. Ferber seriously saved our sleep deprived lives! Apparently Jordan is the child that can not go to bed with his paci in his mouth because if he wakes up and it is not in his mouth, he will go bananas. However, Nathan, could care less if he wakes up with no paci in his mouth. HA! Another little stage with my boys to prove that twins can be so different! Nathan and Jordan could not be more like night and day. That book is full of great information if you have kids at any age that have trouble sleeping.

We are getting ready for our trip to visit family in Georgia on Thursday. This will be the first plane ride for the boys. I'm already breaking out in a sweat. What if they just cry the whole plane ride?! Surely not. Oh gosh, I'm getting nervous. Let's change the subject.

This is my very first official day of summer and I could not be more excited to stay home all day with my boys. What a treat! We have played and talked a lot this morning. So fun!

Oh, wait. Let me leave you with this hilarious picture of Brayden and Bryce. They have climbed on their "play kitchen" before but now it is officially a climbing gym. These boys crack me up!

And, doesn't this look like so much fun?! This is Vivi's new outdoor water toy at my Mom and Dad's house. The water actually pumps from the sink to the faucet and back to the sink. So cool!

Happy Summer Everyone!
Much love,
Becca

My Three Boys

Bryan celebrated his 31st birthday yesterday! We actually celebrated all weekend with supper at Mom's Saturday night and lunch at Emily's on Sunday. We had a great time and at each meal, we had Bryan's favorite dessert....Rice Krispy Treats! Yum!! Happy Birthday Hubby!

Jordan and Nathan had their 4 month wellness check-up today. Jordan weighs 15 pounds and Nathan weighs 14 pounds! My little bitty babies are not so little bitty anymore. They are oohing, and cooing, and they have just gotten interested in all their toys. Jordan has given us a run for our first-time-parenting-skills lately. Jordan and Nathan have both slept all through the night since they were 8 weeks old and all of a sudden, Jordan decided to wake up at about 3:00 every morning. We are a seriously tired Mommy and Daddy these days! Add that on top of our last week of school and it becomes exhaustion. Oh, we are counting down the days til summer...3 to go!

Nathan loves Mr. Giraffe!

Jordan loves Mr.Moose!

P.S. - If you read this before about 11:30 on Wednesday morning, think about the 5th grade teachers at my school. Tomorrow (Wed) is the "Ketchup War." Yes, it is what you are picturing. 300 fifth graders armed with ketchup bottles to reinact the Civil War. Thank goodness I don't teach Social Studies...so I just have to watch and make sure none of the kids go too bonkers. Oh, and the nasty smell of the ketchup war, it is sick. BUT, the kids LOVE it! Isn't that what counts?!

Hey Brother!

Last night, Jordan and Nathan were playing on a blanket in their p.j.'s and they suddenly started "talking" to each other. It was so sweet! I was lucky to catch part of the "conversation" on my camera.

A Birthday Party for Two Special Boys!

Brayden and Bryce had a very cute Jungle Birthday! I thought it was a perfect theme for these two little monkeys! Aren't they the cutest?!

They rrrriiiipppped into the presents!

This was their favorite!

Time for cake!
PaPa and Jordan were a little worn out!

P.S. - Summer is almost here! I got so excited at the grocery store because the milk I purchased had an expiration date of 06/05/09!!! Do you know what day that is???? The last day of school!! If my milk expires on the 5th, then summer is just around the corner. :)

A Taste of Texas

This is one of my favorite recipes ever! I got a recipe for salsa from a teacher friend of mine a couple years ago and I have made a few changes to make it my own.

FRESH SALSA

2 -3 fresh jalapenos (I keep the seeds too, but if you don't like your salsa to be hot, take out the seeds or use jalapenos from a jar)
1/2 yellow onion
1 Tbsp minced garlic
3 15 oz. cans original stewed tomatoes
5 fresh Roma tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp ground cumin
juice from 1 lime
1/2 tsp. sugar
3/4 of a bunch of fresh cilantro

1) Cut the stems off the jalapenos, and quarter the onion. Put jalapenos, onion, and garlic in food processor. Chop fine.
2) Quarter Roma tomatoes. Cut thick ends off of the cilantro. Quarter the lime and squeeze juice into the food processor. Add Roma tomatoes, cilantro, and remaining ingredients to the food processor. Turn on the food processor until all ingredients are well blended and tomatoes are chopped fine.

** I only measure the salt, cumin, and sugar. The rest of the ingredients I increase or decrease each time depending on the taste. Sometimes the cilantro is super strong and I use less. Sometimes the cilantro has a weak flavor and I use more. The number of jalapenos depends on how spicy they are as well. I always buy 3 or 4 and use 2 first. Add more if you like it hot! I usually buy a few extra tomatoes too just in case I accidently get it too spicy! Enjoy!

Please share one or two of your favorite recipes as a comment. I would love to try out something new. :)

I am so far behind!

Bryan and I are sitting here watching basketball (well I am not really watching basketball, but it's on TV). Jordan and Nathan are in their bed. The dogs are chillin' on the couch. Bryan is playing a hunting game on his computer...whatever. He said he saw it at Staples for $9.99 and thought it sounded like fun. Oh yeah, and he does not hunt. If it isn't called "Duck Hunt" and you can't play it on an old school Nintendo, then it doesn't sound like fun to me. Anyway, this is the same guy that told me tonight that he had a red gumball machine in his room growing up and it always scared him when he woke up at night because he thought it was Mario from "Mario Bros." Ummm...since when is Mario scary? My hubby can always crack me up!

Okay, that is not what I was going to share with you tonight.

Here is our week in pictures...
Libby's Birthday

Brayden and Bryce helped Aunt Libby open all her cute gifts!
Nathan and Jordan now have their very own big boy seat!

Bathtime with Nathan
Bathtime with Jordan

Jordan and Nathan were sportin' orange and navy the other day and I had to take a picture to support my Auburn cousins! We love you Rob, Elizabeth, and Zachary!

Oh, and these are the adorable bibs that Megan made for the boys. Thanks Megan!! I asked her to embroider some bibs for me because every time I try to shop for boy bibs, they say "chick magnet," or "big flirt." And, I really do not find that appropriate for my 12 week old boys to be wearing message bibs. These turned out great! Check out the other great items Megan and Ellen have created here.

I still plan on posting that salsa recipe. In fact, it is sitting in my "draft" folder on Blogger. But, now I am tired.

Much love,

Becca
