Happy Valentine's Day!

"We LOVE because He first LOVED us!"  IJohn 4:19

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Darth Vader masks and light sabers...exactly what I think about when I think about Valentine's Day...HA!  Such is the life of a boys' mom!

The Paci Fairy

If you know Jordan, you know that his paci has been one of his most favorite possessions since the day he was born.  He called it his "babby" when he was just beginning to talk and "babby" always seemed to make any situation better.  For Jordan's Mommy and Daddy, it was a life saver!  HA!  Right before his second birthday, we made the rule that paci doesn't leave the bed.  It was only to be used during night time and nap time.  He was pretty grouchy about that decision but it got much easier after a couple weeks.  Last Saturday night, Jordy slept with his paci in his big boy bed.  Then, on Sunday afternoon, we tucked the boys in their beds for nap.  Bryan handed Jordan his paci and Jordy said, "I don't want that."  We were SHOCKED!  So, just like that, Jordan's paci days are over.  He cried a little bit at nap time that day.  We wanted Jordan to be rewarded for his big kid choice so we decided to borrow an idea from Jill to have the Paci Fairy come to pick up the pacis while Jordan is sleeping and leave a big kid prize in its place.

The Paci Fairy left a note!

"Look at my new Star Wars spaceship Mommy!"

This morning, Jordan and I were chatting on the couch before school.  I reminded him that there were no pacis at school for naptime either.  Then, I asked him to tell me where The Paci Fairy took his pacis.  He said, "to the babies.  Babies are cute."  How sweet is that?!

Big Boy Beds

Saturday night was Jordan and Nathan's first night in big boy beds!  It took 1 1/2 hours for them to go to sleep but once they went to sleep, they slept great!  Jordan woke me up one time in the middle of the night and I went in his room and he was laying on the floor.  I asked him how he got there and he said, "I don't know."  Hmmm...I didn't hear a crash on the wood floor...so I wonder if we have a sleep walker on our hands.  Guess we will find out!

Check out those nice Star Wars sheets!  Are they the tackiest pair of sheets you have ever seen?   I never in my life thought there would be bright blue and black Star Wars sheets in my house.  Oh, the things you do for your kids!!

Wow, what big boys!!

**Update - It took them 1 1/2 hours to go to sleep on Saturday night, 1 hour Sunday night and tonight it took about 30 minutes!  We are totally making progress and  I think Nathan and Jordan are starting to feel more and more comfortable in their new beds.

Party Time!

Nathan and Jordan requested a Cars party this year.  Lightning McQueen is a SUPERSTAR at our house!

My handsome boys!

THREE YEARS OLD!

Getting excited about the party...and waiting for their friends...and waiting...turns out there was a road closed near the party because of construction and several of our sweet friends got caught in the traffic mess.  Bless their hearts!

Nathan was watching out the window with PaPa as our friends started to arrive.

Jordy was welcoming friends through the window with Grandad.

CAKE TIME!  Jordy came up to me several times while the kids were playing to see "if his bird-day cake was ready?"  He was so excited for that cake.  My Jordy loves a "special treat!"  I think he gets that from me.  We are sugar-lovers.  Bless him.

Love that little blue smile!

Presents!  Jordan was thrilled with this birthday card full of superheros.  We had to hang it up in his playroom when we got home.

We are so grateful for all of our friends and family that came out to celebrate Nathan and Jordan on this special day.  We had a lovely time!

It Was BIRTHDAY WEEK at Our House!

We celebrated Nathan and Jordan's 3rd birthday this week.  I can not believe they are really three years old.  Oh goodness these boys have brought us so much joy, so many hugs and kisses, and so many laughs.  Along with that, many sleepless nights, many "I think I might lose it" moments, and many stressful outings in public.  BUT, I am so incredibly thankful to be so tired, to feel so crazy, and to be so embarrassed.  Really.  I am so grateful that God blessed us with these two boys.  What a gift!

The week started with muffins for breakfast with a candle of course!  The boys kept saying "I so excited it's my birthday today!"

We met all the grandparents for the Nathan and Jordan's most favorite meal...pizza and cupcakes!

Thanks to MeMe for bringing the cupcakes!

After supper, we came back to the house for the birthday boys to get their gift from Mom and Dad.  The boys were waiting so patiently for Dad to get them from the garage.

When the boys saw the big wheels, they said "It's a MOTORCYCLE!"  Hmmm...not really.  But, I guess I can kind of see how a three year old mind would think a big wheel is a motorcycle.  They were pumped!

It was a super special day for two very happy boys!

CRAZY Hat Day!

It was Crazy Hat Day at school last week.  N and J were tickled to wear their Mickey Mouse hats to school.  Thanks to Aunt Jenn for the souvenier from their Disney trip!  Gram texted me this picture with the disclaimer that she did not have their hats that far back on their heads when she put them on.  Cracks me up!

A Day with Dad

Last week Bryan took Friday off of work to spend a day with the boys, get some work done, and get a little rest.  These are the awesome text pictures I got throughout the day...

Notice how the boys have on hats.  Bryan is not so confident about his "hair combing skills."

They must have known The Calvert Boys were coming...Star Wars on TV!
And Cars2 on TV too!...

Popcorn samples...one of the boys' most favorite snacks!

What a fun day with Dad!
