More October Fun

We are getting a cold front this afternoon....couldn't be more perfect timing.  Hopefully it will be just a little chilly for Trick-Or-Treating next week.  It's never fun to sweat while you Trick-Or-Treat.  But, this is Texas.

I went back to the doctor this week.  My doctor appointment is always my big outing for the week!  I look forward to Tuesdays.  I got a good report. The blood clot is getting smaller (very slowly, but surely.) The babies still look healthy and are kicking around like little ninjas.  I am 20 weeks along in this pregnancy and we are praying for at least 16 more good weeks.  Crazy to think that I have been on bed rest for 6 weeks this Saturday.   We are praising God for the good news from the doctor and we know that He will continue to be faithful during this scary time.  Carson and Harper are strong little babies!

Since Bryan and I prayed fervently for 3 years to be pregnant before we had Nathan and Jordan, this scripture from Psalm 100 has been such a life song for us.  And, as we continue to see the Lord be faithful through all the generations of our family with Carson and Harper, we praise God again for being on His throne.

MORE OCTOBER FUN!

N and J had a fun weekend last weekend, complete with pumpkin carving and their very first trophy!

My proud boys after finishing their last T-ball game of the season!  Nathan told me his trophy is  goooooold!  

Nathan and Jordan's first pumpkin carving experience!  They were not so impressed with the yucky insides of the pumpkin.

They were so excited to design their jack-o-lantern face.  Nathan specifically requested mad eyebrows and square eyes.  Jordan wanted a circle nose and teeth.  So funny!  That night, after bath and pjs, the boys went on the front porch with Bryan to light up their jack-o-lanterns.  So fun!  I'm sure their pumpkins won't make it all the way to Halloween but it's all good.  They are still fun while they last.

Superhero Day

Or, as Nathan calls it..."Heeter-oh Day!"  I'm pretty sure this might have been Nathan and Jordan's most favorite day of school yet this year. 

The theme for the day at preschool..."Jesus is our superhero!"  I love it!

The boys made slime at school so we have had many slimy moments at the kitchen table in two days.  How fun!  

They made superhero masks at school for Superhero day too.  Then, the boys insisted on wearing their masks to baseball practice that afternoon.  Many thanks to Gram for taking the boys to baseball practice and snapping a few cute pictures of N and J in their superhero-baseball gettup.

Superhero-Baseball-Player-Jordy just couldn't handle any more fun for the day...so tired.

Weekend in Review

I am still on bed rest...my doctors' appointments last week did not reveal much new news.  However, the good news is that Carson and Harper continue to grow and be right on target with their size and development.  Praise the Good Lord!  We are believing God that He will continue to keep our babies safe and cooking for several more weeks.  Mom and I are about to order fabric for their bedding and my amazing Mama will be sewing two more sets of bedding.  Bryan told me that I was not allowed to ask her to sew their bedding since she is doing so much for us right now.   She does wash our clothes, cook meals for us, come every afternoon to watch the boys, give the boys a bath and put them to bed on Bryan's late work nights, and she takes me to all my doctors appointments.  But, when I told her that Bryan said I couldn't ask her to make the bedding, she thought that was crazy and said she had already sewed her other 4 grandchildren's  bedding and she wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make two more.  Amazing, right?  I am so thankful!  Thanks to my sister's creativity and decorative eye, we have some great fabrics picked out to start with and these two babies will have a beautiful nursery. 

Last Friday night was my high school homecoming.  Five of my dearest high school friends and I still get together several times a year.  We had planned on going to the homecoming game and festivities together but since I am not able to get out of the house, they decided to hang out with me instead.  We ordered pizza and girl talked for several hours.  Aren't they the greatest?!  We can get together and laugh and cry just as if 13 years haven't passed since we graduated high school.  Do we still look like we are 18?!  HA!  Combined we have 12 children and I have two on the way!  CRAZY!  Funny how our conversation topics have changed throughout the years too.  I sure do LOVE these girls!

Saturday morning Bryan decided to go to the donut shop for our breakfast.  We realized that N and J were majorly mistreated because they had never had donuts for breakfast except for special Sundays at church or Pastries with Parents at school.  These little boys thought this was the BEST breakfast they had ever tasted. It was hilarious.  A little chocolate donut for Saturday breakfast is good for the soul!

On Sunday night, Bryan took Nathan and Jordan to The Pumpkin Patch.  I was so sad that I couldn't join them, but it isn't an option for me to walk around a pumpkin patch right now.  :(  I have a feeling I will be missing lots of Fall activities coming up.   I can't say I haven't shed a few tears over this.

It breaks my heart to miss out on the fun with my family, but I know it will be worth it to bring Harper and Carson safely into the world.  Thankfully, the boys understand that the doctor has told Mommy and babies to rest, rest, rest.

I'm so thankful that Bryan will venture out with the boys for a fun evening at The Pumpkin Patch.  Thanks to Gram and PaPa for joining them in the fun and helping to wrangle the boys that night.  Thanks to my sweet Mom and Dad that kept me company at home for the evening.  It really is taking a village to raise our family right now.  We are so grateful.

Life As We Know It

Life is a little crazy for our little family right now.  I am still on bed rest...going to the doctor tomorrow and specialist on Wednesday.  I keep hoping for really good news but things haven't changed much.  Thankfully I have started to feel Carson and Harper kicking a little in my belly and it's amazing how those little kicks can fill my heart with hope that all will be okay.  I know people are afraid to ask me if I am scared.  Am I scared?  Yes I am.  I am scared out of my mind.  BUT, I do have hope.  And, I know God is in control of Carson and Harper, their health, and their life.  I know the Lord has already picked their birthday.  

My days have been filled with magazines, movies, lots of TLC, and more TV.

We have tried to keep life close to normal for the boys.  They have been amazing with this adjustment.  They love to play outside and ride their bikes at Granny's house.  On this pretty morning, we didn't even make them change out of their pajamas.  I love to sit outside in a chair and watch them play...never knew fresh air would feel so fabulous!

The boys have discovered Legos at MeMe's house.  She saved all of the Legos from when my sister and I were little.  These 30 year old Legos have provided hours and hours of entertainment for our boys.  So fun!  Nathan and Jordan have built countless Lego spaceships, racecars, and castles.  I'm pretty sure Bryan has enjoyed these Legos just as much as they have too!

Bryan had the day off of work today so he took the boys to run errands for one of their special boy days!  They were gone from the house for about 5 hours so I got lots of text picture updates on their day.

Stop #1: Haircuts.  I'm pretty sure N and J are the only 3 year olds that actually like to get their haircut.

The best part about a haircut...the lollipop!  Nathan picked this lollipop because "it's like the Riddler because the Riddler has that on his tummy."  He cracks me up!

Stop #2: The Tailor - had to pick up Daddy's dress pants.  It still cracks me up that Bryan wears dress pants and a tie to work every day this year.  I had gotten so accustomed to his athletic shorts and gray football t-shirt with all his years of coaching.  But, he sure is handsome all dressed up for work each day.  

Stop #3: Home for a quick pit stop.

Stop #4: Lunch at Chick-Fil-A!

Stop #5: Target - Oh, and yes, Bryan took their picture with a stranger's car because the boys were convinced that it was "Snotrod" from the Cars movie!  Jordan said he even had his "snort" on the hood.  So funny!!

And none of my three boys can go to Target or Walmart without visiting the toy aisle.

I stayed home today and watched a lot of TLC, read some magazines, played on the computer, and that's about it.  Life as we know it is not very normal right now.  I will be 18 weeks pregnant on Wednesday...praying that the next 18 weeks go quickly and smoothly while we wait for our sweet babies to arrive.  God is taking very good care of us and proving himself to be sitting on His throne.  We are learning what it means to be totally out of control and live one day at a time.  Thank you for praying for us and with us.  We are so grateful to all our friends and family that have brought meals to our house, devoted countless hours to our boys, sent emails, cards, come to visit, and so much more.  Ya'll are helping the days go by and are keeping our spirits up.  We LOVE you.

I had another scare that sent us to the emergency room again last Thursday.  I went to see the perinatal specialist today and thank goodness, the babies look healthy.  Oh, and our sweet babies have names!!

However, the doctor told me I still need to stay off my feet.  I am still home from work...which is a little stressful.  Thank goodness my assitant principal and my teacher friends are totally taking care of all my little fifth graders.  I do beg you, blogging friends, to lift up my sweet Carson and Harper in your prayers.  My doctors are still very hopeful that all will be okay, but if the complications do not subside, I am at a high risk of my membranes rupturing too early.  We know that the Lord, who created Carson and Harper, is totally in control. 

On a funny note, Nathan and Jordan had State Fair Day at school today.  They came home so excited about their prizes!  Check out that cotton candy!!!

I know Nathan has a little bit of a crazy look on his face.  He's saying "Cheeeeeeeese!!"  It's a great smile huh?  Ha!
