Back in the Swing of Things...

The first day back after Christmas break, when Nate gets out of the car at school, he realized that he left his binder at home.  So, he said, "Well Mom, just put it on the drop-off table."  #1) Like that was no big deal.  #2) I was on my way to work too.  #3) Not sure how he thought I was going to just hop on home and get his binder and take it back to school for the drop off table without interrupting my school day.  So I had to make a mom-choice.  I decided to leave school on my conference period and run home to get the binder, but I left him a little note on it.   Mom-services are expensive.

Then, I spotted this picture of Twitter of my girl...

And Jordy got super creative with Harper's Perler Beads...HA!  I don't know how he does this stuff.  He does not get that creative, artistic, talent from me!!

These two boys sure do make us proud...

Caught them reading new books in their beds at night.   MeMe sure does know how to find them a book they will love.  Jordan's is an American Story book, an adventure year by year through American history.  Nathan's book is a mystery written in the context of a historical period.  Their nerdy hearts sure to warm their mama's nerdy heart too.

And THIS is JP's reaction when he realized that he got to the year of Teddy Roosevelt! ...one of his faves!

A Day at Nash Farm

Vivi volunteers at Nash Farm periodically and thankfully we had a free schedule on her day to volunteer over the break.  We made homemade noodles which turned into chicken noodle soup, toured the farm house, and explored the farm.  That chicken noodle soup was yummy!  The kids were totally wowed when the tour guide was explaining that the chicken in the chicken noodle soup was a chicken on the farm just the other day.  She described him as a mean chicken, which is why he became dinner!

Vivi sure was cute in her authentic outfit.

Making noodles from scratch was hard work and it was truly an art form too...we were not so good at it!  Ha!

The kids were impressed with the old manual machine to strip the corn kernels off the cob.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from this crazy crew!  We enjoyed queso, pigs in a blanket, games, and more games as we kicked off the new year and said goodbye to 2018.   2019 - HERE WE COME!

More Christmas Break FUN

This girl is just like me...so hard to spend a gift card...too many choices...

Family Game Night!  They smoked us in "Beat the Parents" again!!  Their team huddles were the best!

We played so many rounds of Qwirkle over the break and I'm pretty sure Harper won 90% of the games.  She is amazing at this game!

Carson loved his nutcracker from MeMe and Granddad!  His favorite is the almond...he cracks us up!

Christmas Day

Santa came to visit these four awesome kids.  They are not perfect, but they sure do make us proud.  They love Jesus and they are really understanding the celebration of the season more and more each year.

Naturally, when you get new catcher's gear from Santa and your twin brother gets a new Nerf gun...this happens...

Santa Claus even brought Minnie a new toy!

Carson sure was proud of the birdhouse he built!

Carson loved digging for Fossils in his Fossil-Dig-Kit from Aunt Jenn.  He sat at the kitchen table for hours!!

LEGOS and a circuit set = loads of fun on Christmas day!
