A Little Taste of Summer

Last weekend our sunday school class spent the day at a friend's lakehouse.  It was a very nice mini get-away!  The boys loved playing in the water on the porch and running around with their buddy, Carter.  We are so blessed with such a great group of friends at church.

Then, we came home to visit MeMe and Grandad's house for the evening.  The boys played in the water some more of course!  Can you tell that Nathan LOVES the water?!  He especially loves it on his face...he is such a mess!

Nathan is clapping in this picture with Grandad because the Polaris (pool cleaner thing) just sprayed him in the face.  :)  Thanks to Grandad for being willing to get wet!

This is my serious Jordan.

This is what happens when Daddy plays with the boys.  Always aggravatin' somebody!

If that wasn't enough fun for one weekend, we also got to celebrate Brayden and Bryce's third birthday!  Nathan and Jordan were so excited because it was a Mickey Mouse themed party.  This is Brayden opening up his new Toy Story figures.
Bryce opening up his presents...Bryce and Brayden LOVE Minnie Mouse.  In fact, they asked for a Minnie Mouse party but Emily convinced them that boys have Mickey Mouse parties.  HA!  So, I just had to wrap their gifts in Minnie Mouse bags!!  They loved it!

Nathan and Jordan sporting their Mickey Mouse ears during the party.

A little funny story from today....Jordan has just learned to say "Mickey Mouse."  This morning when he got to Gram and PaPa's house, they asked him to say "Mickey Mouse."  Jordan said, "Mi-ey Mou." So, they clapped and cheered.  Then, they asked Nathan to say "Mickey Mouse."  And, Nathan said, "Cat."  HA!  Guess we need to keep working on this vocabulary stuff.

Never A Dull Moment

Bryan always takes the boys to his mom's house in the morning before school.  I usually get a quick email to let me know he got there okay and that the boys were happy, sleepy, hungry, what they were eating for breakfast, etc... This is part of the email I got today from Bryan...

"They were funny this morning. Nathan was being a clown. While my mom was pouring his cheerios he kept reaching his hand through the hole in the bag and pulling them out for her. She says he does that all the time. Then he kept trying to pull up her shirt to see her belly and then he untied her pants twice! Then he kept taking his milk and cheerios and putting them on Jordan’s tray. Of course he was laughing the entire time. Jordan did not think it was as funny! Finally mom had to pull Nathan’s chair away from Jordan."

Oh goodness, like I said, never a dull moment.

Tutus, Glitter, Buns, and Ballet Shoes!

This afternoon, it was a special treat to attend Vivi's first dance recital.  She was the most darling little girl there!  I couldn't zoom any closer so these are the best pictures I could get...

In this picture, Vivi is the only one facing backwards. :)  She just really liked turning in circles.  She usually turned a few extra circles each time!

I love this picture because you can tell she is watching her dance teacher off to the side very intently.  I tried to use the paint program to show you which one she is, but her name turned out so tiny.  So, do you see the sweet girl with the purple blob by her head?  That's Vivi.  :)

She was the last one off the stage.  She was soaking up the attention!  Vivi liked being center stage...so fun!

Vivi, I am so proud of you!! You shined like a star this afternoon.  You looked so pretty in your tutu and your dance steps were perfect.  I just love you to pieces!
Much love, Aunt Becca

Back from the Blogging Hiatus

Quick Recap from The Calvert House:

1. Nathan is walking all over the place.  Two little boys walking = CRAZY

2. State testing is over at school.  Our whole 5th grade did fabulous!  Whew!

3.  I took the boys to their 15 month appointment on Monday and found out that Nathan has an ear infection in both ears.  Nice.  Yeah, I totally felt like "Mother of the Year."  I had no idea!  Poor little guy!  With a few days of antibiotics, I think we have that under control now.

4.  Bryan is teaching high school sunday school in a few weeks and he just told me his lesson will be about Lazarus and Facebook.  I'm not totally sure how they relate, but I can't wait to hear it. :)  Oh ya'll, my hubby can teach The Word...yes, he can.

5.  Mother's Day was totally special.  Nathan and Jordan gave me Mickey Mouse Mother's Day cards and we got to enjoy the cute little Mother's Day Breakfast in the church nursery that morning.  I was so grateful  to be a Mom that day, but I couldn't help but hurt for those that have lost their mother, or the women that have such a deep desire to be a mom.

6.  I made chicken tonight with Panko breadcrumbs...YUM!

7.  I have started ironing clothes like my mom always did.  Once a week.  Definitely worth the 1 or 1 1/2 hours it takes to iron all the clean clothes at one time.  I'm not sure why it took me almost 7 years of marriage to figure that out.

8.  I planted flowers in my front yard and they are blooming beautifully!  YAY!  Makes my heart happy every time I pull into my driveway.

9.  Nathan and Jordan are loving the warm weather and playing outside!

10.  16 school days left until summer.  I think I am going to make it.  I can not wait to spend the days with my little boys!

11. PaPa made NaterTot and Jordy pancakes one morning this week for breakfast.  What a special treat!

Goodnight blogging friends.

Nathan's Walking! (well sort of) :)

I was videoing (is that a word?) while Bryan was enticing Nathan to walk with some bait (the TIVO remote!). But, you will see when you watch the video that I had a little helper with the Flip camera. Guess who my little helper was? Here's a hint: His name starts with "J" and ends with "ordan." I hope the video doesn't make you sea-sick! Then, I'm pretty sure Nater-Tot got a little upset that he didn't make it all the way to the remote control. He's all smiles when he gets his prize!

This house is counting down the weeks til summer break and we are just trying to survive until then. School children are a little wild 'n crazy this time of year! The boys think they can't get to where they are going without running, the girls start gossiping, and NO ONE wants to turn in homework...now that makes a teacher's job tough. Maybe I should start bribing with extra recess this week?!

Anyone Need a Ride?!

Nater-Tot and Jordy can take you where you need to go!  MeMe and Grandad got these cars for the boys for their birthday and we finally got around to putting the cars together.  You would not believe all the pieces in that box!
Jordan likes to pack all his Little People in the trunk.  He is such an organizer...cracks me up!

Spring on the Farm

The boys were not so sure about the petting farm...
Nathan was much more interested than Jordan.  Jordan did NOT want to get close to those goats!  Look at him holding on to his Daddy for dear life!
Nathan talked to the bunny.  :)
Jordan liked the baby goats that were behind the gate (probably only because they were behind the gate.)  HA!
Maybe the trip to the farm in the fall will be a little more successful.  ;)  Although, Nathan and Jordan sure did enjoy that homemade ice cream they had this year!
